William RIMILL (RYMILL)

8 December 1659

In the Name of God Amen. The seven and twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred fifty and nyne. I William Rymill citizen and haberdasher of London being very sick and weak in body but of perfect memory Gods holy name be praised do make this my present last Will as follows. First I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my heavenly Father and ……………..

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Alice Rymill all my personal effects, household goods, debts and chattels wheresoever of right belonging to me during her normal life and after her decease then I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth Hodgdon the summe of ten pounds of lawful English monie and if she happen to die before my wife then I Will the same to her sonne.

Item I give unto my sister Ursula Richards the summe of twentie shillings.

Item I give unto my kinsman Edward Rymill twentie shillings to buy him a ring and twenty shillings more to his wife to buy her a ring and to each of his seven children seven pounds a year.

Item I give unto Henry Smith cloth maker twentie pounds in monie.

Item I give unto Bernard Middlemouth shoemaker five pounds in monie. Item I give unto my servant Eleanor Gibbons three pounds.

Item I give unto Thomas Richards twenty shillings and I give unto Robert Button twentie shillings And I give unto John Gardiner and Edward Gardiner one shilling a year.

Lastly I give unto my father in law Major Henry Barlow and my mother in law his wife forty shillings a year. All the rest of my goods, chattels, debts, household effects and implements whatsoever of right belonging to me or to my said wife at the time of her decease I give and bequeath to my said father in law Major Henry Barlow whom I make the sole Executor of this my last Will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and seal. Dated the day and year above written William Rymill. Sealed and declared in the presence of me Eleanor Gibbons, her mark, George Lyde, William Roberts.

This will was proved in London: The eighth day of the month of December in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred fifty and nine before the Judges for probate of Wills and granting Administration lawfully authorised by the oath of Henry Barlow the sole and only Executor named in the above written Will to whom Administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and debts of the said deceased was granted and committed he being first legally sworn duly and faithfully to administer the same.
